The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) opened Tuesday’s session at new record high levels, supported by an improved investors’ sentiment, amid hopes in Wall Street for economic recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic.
Recent positive economic data has helped increase risk sentiment and supported gains by the stock market.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened higher by 13.7 points, or 0.04%, at 31,472.08 points.
The S&P 500 index increased by 4.8 points, or 0.12%, to open at 3,939.61 points.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index began the first session of the week higher by 56.7 points, or 0.4%, at 14,152.215 points.
This is the first trading session of the week in Wall Street, following a long weekend as Monday marked Presidents Day, which is a federal holiday in the United States.
