The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) closed mostly higher on Monday, with S&P 500 and the Nasdaq hitting new fresh closing record highs in the first session of the week. Wall Street investors showed an increased appetite for technology stocks.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 55.96 points, or 0.2%, to close at 35,399.84.
The S&P 500 added 0.4%, or 19.42 points, to log a new record high, closing at 4,528.79, while the Nasdaq Composite Index rose by 136.39 points, or 0.9%, to close at a record high of 15,265.89. Both indices hit all-time intraday record highs.
