Wall Street Ends Week Mixed

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) closed higher on Friday, despite uncertainties about the rising number of COVID-19 cases and concerns regarding a second wave of the pandemic.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 358.5 points, or 1.34%, and closed at 27,173.96 points, but declined by 1.8% for the week, registering its fourth weekly decline in a row.

The S&P500 closed higher by 1.6% at the level of 3,298.46, limiting its fourth consecutive weekly loss to 0.6%.

Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite surged by 2.26% or 241.30 points to close at 10,913.56, turning to a 1.1% weekly rise, after falling for three weeks in a row.
