Wall Street Closes Higher Despite Surge in Inflation

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) finished higher on Thursday, with the S&P 500 closing at a new record high, with Wall Street investors seemingly showing no concern over the surge in inflation that was shown by the consumer price data for last month.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose marginally by about 19 points, or 0.06%, to finish at 34,466.24 points.

The S&P 500 closed higher by 19.63 points, or 0.47%, at 4,239.18 points.

Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index registered a 0.78% rise to the level of 14,020.33 points.
