NYSE Indices Close Mostly Lower as Treasury Yields Rise

The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) showed a mixed performance on Tuesday and closed mostly lower.

This comes amid huge increases in the U.S. Treasury yields and disruptions in the energy sector due to extreme weather conditions in the south that resulted from a strong winter storm.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average solely rose by 64.35 points, or 0.20, to finish at 31,522.75 points.

The S&P 500 index settled marginally lower by 0.6% at 3,932.59 points.

Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index finished lower by 47.97 points, or 0.3%, at 14,047.50 points.
