The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) settled higher on Monday, amid an improvement in risk appetite among investors due to positive economic data and anticipation for a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Dow Jones Industrial Index gained 459 points or 1.78% to settle at 26,287, and the S&P 500 index rose by 49 points or 1.59% to close at 3,179.72, with the later completing its longest rising streak since December.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite index recorded a new all-time high as it closed at 10,433.65, after surging by 266 points or 2.21%.
