French Minister Supports Tariffs on American Imports

France’s Minister of Finance, Bruno Le Maire, said on Friday that he supports imposing European tariffs on imports from the United States, after the World Trade Organization (WTO) allowed the European Union the right to retaliate against the US subsidies for Boeing, Reuters reported.

“The EU has the possibility to impose sanctions on the United States in relation to the spat between Boeing and Airbus.”

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump threatened to strike back against European tariffs.

“If they strike back, then we will strike back harder than they will strike. They do not want to do it.”
