Biden Warns Cyberattacks Could Lead to War

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, has warned on Tuesday that the U.S. could go to an actual war with a major power due to cyberattacks.

highlighting what Washington sees as growing threats posed by Russia and China.

“I think it is more than likely we are going to end up, if we end up in a war, a real shooting war with a major power, it is going to be as a consequence of a cyber breach of great consequence and its increasing exponentially the capabilities.”

Biden’s remarks came during a visit to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Recent cyberattacks have affected major infrastructure facilities in the U.S., led by the Colonial Pipelines, which led to major disruptions in crude oil refining and fuel distribution.

Tensions between Washington and both Russia and China have led to many accusations of cyberattacks.
