Asian stocks close lower, affected by the decline in Wall Street

Most stocks in the Asia-Pacific region fell Friday, September 30, the last day of the third quarter of the year after another sell-off on Wall Street overnight.

In Japan, the Nikkei fell by 1.83% and the Topix fell by 1.76%.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is up 0.29%, while Hang Seng Tech is down 1.05%.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.1% and the Shenzhen component decreased by 0.69%.

And the Kospi in South Korea fell by 0.14% and the Kosdak index fell by 0.24%.
MSCI’s broadest index of Asia Pacific shares outside Japan fell 0.31%.

US stocks fell on Thursday, September 29th, with the S&P 500 index reaching a new low for the year and also reaching a new closing level, down 2.1% to end the session at 3640.47 points.
