Dallas Fed Manufacturing Business Index Slows

The growth of factory activity in Texas slowed in August, according to the Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey, by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.

The production index decreased by 10 points to 20.8, while the new orders index retreated to 15.6 from 26.8.

The growth rate of orders declined by 15 points to 10.7.

The capacity utilization index reached 21.7, while the shipments index stood at 15.2.

Meanwhile, the general business activity index plunged to 9, its lowest reading since January.
