The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) closed higher on Wednesday, as Wall Street continued with its rally as S&P 500 and Nasdaq closing at new record highs, while Dow Jones rose for the fourth consecutive session.
Positive earnings reports for the second quarter of the year eased concerns about a slower recovery with the spread of the coronavirus Delta variant, while investors continue to anticipate more signs regarding monetary policy adjustments.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 39.24 points, or 0.1%, to close at 35,405.5 points.
The S&P 500 index finished higher by about 10 points, or 0.2%, at a new record 4,496.19 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 22 points, or 0.2%, to settle at another all-time closing high of 15,041.86 points. Both benchmark indices also hot new intraday record highs earlier in the session.
