Wall Street Close with Modest Gains and New Records

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) closed modestly higher on Tuesday, with the technology stocks leading the gains in Wall Street and investors awaiting economic data, especially the upcoming jobs report, to asses the possible impact on monetary policy and interest rates.

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite continued to register all-time record highs for the 33rd and 19th times this year, respectively.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 9.02 points, or 0.03%, and finished at 34,292.29 points.

The S&P 500 finished at 4,291.80 points, higher that its record high closing level of yesterday by only 1.19 points, or 0.03%.

Meanwhile, the Nasdaq increased by 27.83 points, or 0.19%, to settle at 14,528.34 points.
