The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) opened mostly lower on Monday, amid a rise in the U.S. Treasury bond yields. In addition, Wall Street investors are anticipating a series of important economic data this week, which will reflect the state of economic recovery from the Coronavirus pandemic.
Later this week, the reading of last month’s inflation rates are due in both the United States and China, with the release of the consumer price index (CPI) reports, as well as inflation expectations by the Reserve Bank of Australia.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down by about 0.38%, while the S&P 500 decreased by 0.30%.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index is marginally higher by 0.04%.
