The U.S. Annual Core PCE Inflation Stays Unchanged at in September

Inflation in the US, measured by the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index, stayed unchanged at 0.3% on a monthly basis in September, the US Bureau of Economic Analysis reported on Friday. Annually, the PCE Price Index edged higher to 4.4% from 4.2% but came in lower than the market expectation of 4.7%. the Core PCE Price Index, the Fed’s preferred gauge of inflation, remained steady at 3.6% on a yearly basis, compared to market expectation of 3.7%.
