Trump Declares Israel-Iran Ceasefire Breakthrough, Markets React

On Monday, US President Donald Trump announced a “complete and total” ceasefire between Israel and Iran, set to take effect in roughly six hours, aiming to end their ongoing conflict, according to Reuters.

In a social media post, Trump stated, “Israel and Iran have fully agreed to a TOTAL CEASEFIRE, effective after their final missions conclude in about 6 hours. The 12-hour truce will mark the END of the war!”

Neither Israel nor Iran has officially confirmed the ceasefire agreement.

Market Impact

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil prices dropped 2.25% to $65.45, reflecting reduced geopolitical tensions. Gold (XAU/USD) also fell 0.31% to $3,357, signaling a shift in investor sentiment.
