Russia Fines Google For Not Removing Content Banned by Moscow

A Moscow court said on Monday it has fined Alphabet Inc’s Google 4 million Russian rubles ($52,526) for providing access to content banned in Russia, the latest in a string of fines for the US tech giant.

Russia has stepped up its efforts to pressure big tech companies, imposing huge fines based on revenue from Google and Meta for failing to remove content Moscow considers illegal.
