Market Drivers – European Session 27-10-2021

US stocks rose slightly at the open on Wednesday, supported by a fresh batch of strong earnings reports.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 78.55 points, or 0.22 percent, to open at 35,835.43 points.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 5.43 points, or 0.12 percent, to 4,580.22 points.

The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 40.29 points, or 0.26 percent, to 15,276 at the open.

The dollar index fell 0.1 percent, while US 10-year bond yields fell to their lowest level in a week, reducing the opportunity cost of buying non-yielding gold.

The price of gold in spot transactions rose 0.1 percent to $ 1784.66 an ounce (an ounce) by 1214 GMT, after declining by about 0.6 percent earlier in the session. US gold futures fell 0.1 percent to $1,791.40.

The US dollar recorded a slight decrease today, Wednesday, in light of the weak yield of US bonds, as the US 10-year bond yield recorded about 1.591 percent, down by more than 1%, while the US 20-year bond yield recorded about 1.995%, down by approximately 1.24%. Also, the US 30-year bond yield recorded 2.013%.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell sharply on October 27 below $60,000 to its lowest level in two weeks. Bitcoin is approaching $58,000 at the time of writing, hitting its lowest level since October 15.
