Democrat Joe Biden won the electoral college, which formally determines the next president of the United States, to end President Donald Trump’s campaign to reverse his November 3 election loss.
And the state of California, which has 55 electoral votes in the electoral college, gave Biden the vote so that the Democrat officially exceeded the quorum required to win the presidency of 270 votes. Based on the results of November, Biden won 306 votes to 232 for Trump.
