The global economy’s outlook remains uncertain to a large extent due to the Coronavirus pandemic, according to the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, Reuters reported.
The IMF is reportedly making new allocations of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) to help poor and developing countries address the challenges of the pandemic.
Such measures include donating around $20 billion in existing SDRs to help developing economies.
“It will continue to be so important, even more important, for us to be able to expand our capacity to support countries that have fallen behind.”
