The world’s efforts for discovering a cure are going at full capacity, with Gilead’s remdeisivr being a potential cure.

In the US, the number of cases reached 40,000 again, and epidemiologist Anthony Fauci warned that the US could see 100,000 cases per day. While testifying on Capitol Hill, he told Senators that no region of the country is safe from the return of the virus.

The chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome H. Powell, warned lawmakers on Tuesday that a second outbreak of the coronavirus could force governments and people to withdraw from the economic activity, adding that “the path of the economy is highly uncertain,” while testifying before House Financial Services Committee.

Somewhere else, the EU announced on Tuesday that it would open its borders to visitors from 15 countries. The European Council (EC) announced in a press release issued Tuesday that “travel restrictions may be totally or partially lifted or reintroduced for a specific country already listed according to changes in some of the conditions.”

Globally, the coronavirus has infected more than 1.4 million people and at least 82,000 deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
