The European Union (EU) and China have reportedly reached an agreement to open the Chinese market to European investors, Bloomberg reported.
The deal has been negotiated for a very long time, since 2013, and it could come effective as of 2022.
The EU is focused on expanding economic opportunities in Asia.
Investors from the 27 member countries of the EU will now have a better access to invest in the Chinese market in a number of industries, including the automotive and telecom industries.
China was the EU’s second-largest trade partner in 2019 with bilateral trade exceeding EUR 1 billion per day.
