Amazon to Employ 55K More People Around the Globe

Amazon will offer 55,000 jobs around the world, in corporate and technology, over the coming months, CEO Andy Jassy reportedly told Reuters.

Speaking to the press for the first time since he assumed the position in July, following the resignation of former CEO and Founder Jeff Bezos, Jassy said that there are so many jobs during the pandemic that have been displaced or have been altered, and there are so many people who are thinking about different and new jobs

Amazon says that the new vacancies would increase Amazon’s tech and corporate staff by about 20% from a current level of about 275,000 globally.

Everybody at the company has the freedom and the expectation to critically look at how it can be better and then invent ways to make it better, he explained.
