The managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, told CNBC in an interview on Thursday that while there isn’t a financial crisis in the US, there are risks.
After these remarks, the US Dollar Index remains firmly in the red and was last observed losing 0.5% at roughly 101.00.
Georgieva pointed out that the US economy’s slowing will force the Federal Reserve to adjust its monetary policy. Regarding the outlook for inflation, she stated that while prices are declining, they are not doing so quickly enough.
