Jeff Bezos Blue Origin is suing the United States government over issues in NASA’s Human Landing System $2.9-billion contract that the space agency awarded to Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Blue Origin said that there were flaws in the acquisition process in the deal, with the company aiming to work on NASA’s next missions to the Moon and Mars.
NASA officials are currently reviewing details of the case and must file a response in less than two months.
As per the deal agreed in April, SpaceX would deliver a lunar landing spacecraft by 2024.
Recently, Bezos offered NASA covering up to $2 billion in costs if a contract for a lunar lander.
