European Stocks Finish Monday with Strong Gains

European shares finished Monday higher, opening the second week of March with a positive performance, as investor’s sentiment improved on the back of positive expectations of economic recovery, following the passing of the huge stimulus bill in the United States by the Senate.

The STOXX Europe 600 index closed up by 2.18%, as the banking sector led the gains and surged by 3.7%.

The German DAX index settled higher by 3.31%, while the French CAC40 increased by 2.08%.

Meanwhile, the UK’s FTSE100 gained 1.34%.
