The President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Thomas Barkin, called upon investors to focus on the Fed’s policy and its impact on economic recovery, instead of being distracted by expectations of when would interest rates or asset purchases be changed, Reuters reported.
The Fed’s guidance “is as clear and explicit as we have seen,” he noted in a TV interview.
“The challenge for investors is to not try to turn that into calendar-based guidance but to say let’s see how the outcomes go.”
Last month, Barkin expressed his optimism regarding the recovery of the American economy this year amid the rollout of Coronavirus vaccines.
