US Retail Sales Surge in September

Retail sales in the United States increased last month, according to data by the Department of Commerce on Friday.

The rise in September retail sales was the biggest in three months, exceeding market expectations.

Retail sales grew by 1.9% on a monthly basis, after rising by 0.6% in August.
