European Stocks Close Lower

European stocks closed lower on Thursday as uncertainties persist regarding economic recovery in the continent after the Bank of England (BoE) monetary policy committee’s statement noted that “although recent developments suggest a less weak starting point for the Committee’s latest projections, it is unclear how informative they are about how the economy will perform further out.”

The STOXX Europe 600 index declined by 0.71%, closing at 362.57.

In the London Stock Exchange (LSE), the FTSE100 index plunged by 1.27%.

French index CAC40 fell by 0.98%, while the German DAX settled lower by 0.54%.

In Spain, IBEX35 closed lower by 1.16%, while the Italian FTSE MIB declined by 1.34%.
