European stocks settled lower on Monday, on the back of rising tensions between the US and China, as well as concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, after the UK imposed a two-week quarantine on people returning from Spain, after an increase in the number of cases there.
The Stoxx Europe 600 declined by 0.20% at 366.55 points.
FTSE100 closed lower by 0.31%, while CAC40 retreated by 0.34%.
Meanwhile, German index DAX closed on marginal gains, adding 0.60 points, supported by an increase in the business climate, as shown by recent data.
