German IFO Business Climate Index Beats Estimates

The headline German IFO Business Climate Index came in at 90.5 in July, better than last month’s 86.2 while beating the consensus estimates of 89.3.

Meanwhile, the Current Economic Assessment arrived at 84.5 points in the same month as compared to last month’s 81.3 and 85.0 estimated.

On the other hand, the IFO Expectations Index – indicating firms’ projections for the next six months, came in at 97.0 for July, up from the previous month’s 91.4 reading and better than the market expectations of 93.7.
