WHO Warns COVID-19 Could Get Worse and Worse

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned on Monday that the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic may be getting worse around the world, with many countries failing to correctly respond to the situation and take the necessary preventive precautions.

“Let me be blunt, too many countries are headed in the wrong direction, the virus remains public enemy number one,” the Director General of WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, told a press briefing earlier today, Reuters reported.

“If basics are not followed, the only way this pandemic is going to go [is that] it is going to get worse and worse and worse.”

“There will be no return to the old normal for the foreseeable future. There is a lot to be concerned about,” Tedros added.
