The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) closed mostly higher on Monday, as Wall Street investors looked at recent economic data that suggested the manufacturing sector, as an indicator for the economy, continue to expand but at a slow pace due to supply chain challenges.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 238.38 points, or 0.70%, to close at 34,113.23 points.
The S&P 500 index rose by 11.49 points, or 0.27%, to finish at 4,192.66 points.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index ended the session at the level of 13,895.12 points, losing 67.56 points, or 0.48%.
