The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) registered its biggest gains in a week on Wednesday, supported by positive economic data that signaled a strong recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.
Additionally, news about vaccine and treatments for the virus helped boost investors’ sentiment and the risk appetite.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 454.84 points, or 1.59%, and closed at 29,100.5 points.
The S&P 500 index closed at a record 3,580.84, after surging by 54.19 points or 1.54%.
Similarly, the Nasdaq Composite gained 116.78, or 0.98%, and finished at 12,056.44 points.
