The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) closed higher on Thursday, following three consecutive declines, as risk appetite improved with Wall Street investors reversing the recent selling pressures.
Inflation fears seem to be fading by the recently released minutes from the Federal Reserve’s latest meeting, which showed an expectation of discussing policy changes in upcoming meetings if the economy continues to show recovery signs.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 188 points, or 0.55%, to close at 34,084.15 points.
The S&P 500 index finished higher by 43.44 points, or 1.06%, at 4,159.12 points.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite Index surged by 263 points, or 1.77%, to end the session at 13,535.74 points.
