The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) opened the new week on a varied note, with Wall Street investors mostly optimistic about the prospects of a strong recovery.
Rising commodity prices also provided support to energy and mining stocks.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened at a new record high. The benchmark index continue to rise, reaching 35,004.49 points, gaining 226.73 points, or 0.65%.
Meanwhile, the S&P 500 is marginally down by 0.07%, while the Nasdaq Composite Index is trading lower by 1.35%.
