Wall Street Opens Lower as Technology Declines and Covid Grows

The main US stock indices fell at the open today, Friday, affected by sales in technology companies after reports of results below expectations, while pessimism was exacerbated by a record increase in cases of Coronavirus infection and concerns about the presidential election.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 86.84 points, equivalent to 0.33%, to record 2,6572.27 points, S&P 500 Index fell by 15.85 points, or 0.48%, to 3294.26 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 82.12 points, or 0.73%, to 11103.47 points at the open.
