Wall Street opened higher on Friday, showing signs of a rebound after taper talks in the Fed July meeting minutes weighed on investor’s sentiment.
In addition, a hawkish tone by Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan calmed market fears over scaling back asset purchases too soon.
Kaplan told Fox News earlier today that the Fed’s board members might need to revise the timing of cutting back on bond-buying amid the resurgence of the coronavirus with the spread of the Delta variant.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is higher by 181 points, or 0.52%, at 35,075 points, after closing in red for three days in a row.
The S&P 500, which horse on Thursday, is up by 26.2 points, or 0.60%, at 4,432.44 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index, which closed with modest gains yesterday, is up by about 132 points, or 0.91%, at 14,673.78 points.
