The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) finished Thursday with a mixed performance. Despite a rebound by tech stocks, with the decline in Treasury bond yields, Wall Street remained negatively impacted by the Federal Reserve’s July meeting minutes that indicated plans to scale asset purchases sooner than previously expected, with fears over persistent inflationary pressures.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower for the third consecutive session by 66.57 points or 0.19% at 34,894.12 points, while the S&P 500 added 47.81 points, or 1.1%, to finish at 4,405.8 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index rebounded and gained 0.11% to settle at 14,541.79 points.
