The main indices of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) showed a mixed performance on Friday, with Wall Street investors reacting to the disappointing nonfarm payrolls data for last month, which increased concerns over the pace of recovery from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower by 0.2%, extending its weekly loss to 0.24%
The S&P 500 index also declined by 0.03% but logged a weekly rise of 0.6% for the week.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite managed to close at a new all-time high record closing level for the 35th time this year, after leveled up by 0.2%, extending its weekly rise to 1.6%
Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) in the US rose by 235,000 in August, the data published by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics showed on Friday.
