Wall Street Lower on Fears of Corona And Stimulus

The main stock indices fell on Wall Street at the open Monday, September 21, as fears grew of a new blow to the country’s economy in light of concern about another round of lockdown measures due to the Coronavirus and the ability of Congress to agree on more fiscal stimulus.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average reached a low of nearly two months after the opening, dropping 172.71 points, equivalent to 0.62%, to 27,484.71 points, and the S&P500 index opened down 33.90 points, or 1.02%, to 3285.57 points, and the Nasdaq composite index fell 183.14 points, or 1.70%, to 10610.14 points.
