Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Wednesday after rising oil prices fueled inflation fears, while a survey showing a strong rise in private-sector jobs last month fueled concern that monetary stimulus would be scaled back sooner than expected.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 115.71 points, or 0.34 percent, to 34,198.96 points.
The S&P 500 indexes opened, down 26.15 points, or 0.60 percent, to 4,319.57 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 144.38 points, or 1 percent, to 14,289.45 points.
