The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) ended Thursday trading session on a mixed note, with Wall Street continuing to show a mostly positive reaction one day after the inauguration of President Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 12 points to close nearly unchanged at 31,176 points.
Meanwhile, both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite indices closed at new all-time highs, with the first rising marginally one point to finish at 3,853.07 points, and the later closing higher by about 74 points, or 0.55%, and ending the session at the level of 13,530.91 points.
It is worth noting that the sentiment is improving in the stock market, amid anticipation for better handling of the Coronavirus crisis by the new administration, which vowed to improve the distribution of vaccines, as well as to expand government stimulus spending to help the economy cope with the impact of the pandemic.
