The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) showed a mixed performance on Thursday, with Wall Street investors reacting to the recent changes indicated in the U.S. Federal Reserve policy statement, from raising inflation forecasts to expecting two rate hikes in 2023.
The Fed maintained the current main interest rate near 0% and the pace of its asset purchases at the level of $120 billion a month.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 210.22 points, or 0.62%, and closed at 33,823.45 points.
The S&P 500 closed marginally lower by 1.84 points, or 0.04%, at 4,221.86 points.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite gained 121.7 points, or 0.87%, and ended the session at the level of 14,161.35 points.
