As investors and traders are awaiting the FOMC minutes, the S&P 500 edged down 0.2%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average weakened 0.3%, or about 110 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.2%. That puts the technology-heavy index on pace to decline for a third successive day amid a rise in bond yields.
S&P 500 is now dependent on the FOMC minutes. Fed members have been leaning towards a faster pace of tapering, stocks could be pressured into the close.
