Worker productivity in the United States rose during the first quarter of the year, data showed on Thursday.
Nonfarm productivity increased by 5.4% on a yearly basis during Q1 of 2021, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
The reading for Q4 of last year was revised upwards to show a 3.8% decline, from an initially estimated 4.2%.
Hours worked grew by 2.9% last quarter, from 10.0% in Q4 of 2020.
Labor costs declined at a rate of 0.3% rate, following an increase of 5.6% during the previous quarter.
On an annual basis, unit labor costs rose at a 1.6% rate.
