U.S. consumer confidence improved this month, reaching a new fresh high since the beginning of the pandemic, data showed on Tuesday.
The Consumer Confidence index rose to 127.3 from a revised reading of 120 in May, according to the Conference Board.
More consumers are showing upbeat expectations for economic recovery with wider vaccinations allowing more cities and states to reopen.
In addition, expectations for inflations also increased, while the expectations index leveled up to 107.
The current conditions index also rose to 157.7, and the percentage of survey respondents expecting higher incomes over the coming six months was another measurement that rose to its highest level since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020.
