The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) showed a varied performance on Thursday, as the Dow and S&P settled lower while the Nasdaq continued its historic rally and registered a new record-high.
This comes as investors are growing concerned with the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the US.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1.39% or 361 points and closed at 25,706, while the S&P 500 index settled lower by 0.56% at 3,152.
The Nasdaq Composite index closed at a new record level at 10,547.75 points, after adding more than 55 points, or 0.53%, despite giving up on earlier higher gains.
