On Wednesday, Japan’s Nikkei average experienced its third consecutive session of gains, buoyed by the positive performance of chip-related companies like Advantest, following the upward movement on Wall Street the previous night.
The Nikkei index increased by 0.25 percent, closing at 32,926.35 points, while the broader Topix index rose by 0.07 percent, reaching 2,354.92 points.
Chip maker Advantest saw a significant increase of 5.19 percent, and Renesas Electronics, another chip maker, rose by 3.75 percent. Tokyo Electron, specializing in chip testing equipment, also experienced a notable increase of 4.71 percent.
Yoshio shares recorded a substantial jump of 12.27 percent after announcing collaboration with Applied Materials to develop technology for the advanced semiconductor packaging market.
Of the 225 stocks on the Nikkei index, 149 witnessed declines, 75 saw gains, and one company’s stock remained stable.
