Wall Street Set to Open Higher

US stocks should open slightly higher on Monday, as markets are on track to achieve their best August in more than 30 years.

At 11:15 AM GMT, S&P 500 was up 8 points, or 0.2%, while the Dow Jones futures rose 47 points or 0.1%, And Nasdaq 100 futures gained 0.4%.

All three major US stock indices made gains last week after the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed at their highest levels in history on Friday, and with the expectation that S&P in the absence of major surprises in today’s trading session, will achieve the strongest performance for August in 34 years.

Last week posted gains for the fifth consecutive week for both indices, while the Dow is now in the positive territory compared to its price at the beginning of the year, after wiping out all the last losses in 2020 on gains of last week.
