US wheat and corn futures rose to the highest intraday trading level on Thursday, while soybean prices hit their highest level since 2012 after Russian forces attacked Ukraine, raising fears of a global supply impact.
Wheat prices rose for the third day in a row, reaching their highest level in more than nine years, while corn jumped to an eight-month high.
Chicago Board of Trade May wheat futures jumped 5.7 percent to about $9.34 a bushel, the highest price since July 2021.
Corn rose 5.1 percent to $7.16 a bushel, its highest since June 10.
Soybean contracts for May rose 4.2 percent to $ 17.41 a bushel, recording a rise for the sixth consecutive session. And earlier in the session, it reached its highest level since September 2021 at $17.56.
